Chain of Custody FSC®, PEFC, and Green Tag Certification

What is what is Chain of Custody FSC®, PEFC, and Green Tag Certification?

Chain of Custody (CoC) certification is a system used to track the movement of certified products from the forest to the consumer, including all stages of processing, transformation, manufacturing, and distribution. FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization that promotes responsible forest management. The FSC CoC certification provides a guarantee that the product comes from a well-managed forest, and that all stages of production have been monitored to ensure that the final product has been made using raw materials from responsible sources.

PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization that promotes sustainable forest management through independent third-party certification. Like FSC, the PEFC CoC certification ensures that the product comes from a well-managed forest and that all stages of production have been monitored to ensure that the final product has been made using raw materials from responsible sources.

Green Tag is a third-party certification that verifies that a product has been manufactured using environmentally responsible processes. It is used to promote products that are made from sustainable materials, are energy efficient, and have a low impact on the environment.
